2023-06-30 New historical SST line charts added. Check out the current excessively warm North Atlantic Ocean here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/sst/atlantic#container
2023-06-30 21z (late afternoon) wind generation forecast verifications now available: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/wind-verification/ercot/00z/1-21
2023-06-26 European model upgrade starts tomorrow with the 6z cycle. Look for daily updates on the European weeklies tomorrow. Changes for the first cycles, unfortunately, will not be apples-to-apples due to delayed timing/processing of parallel feeds and the larger differences in this upgrade.
2023-06-23 New cross sections are available for HAFS-A and HAFS-B NOAA hurricane models. See an example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/hafs-a/12z/cindy04l/341-wind-cross-section
2023-06-22 New tropical navigation bar added for easier movement among SV tropical products with a new full-track, mega ensemble density link added. See Bret example with new navigation menu above it here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/tropical-density/AL03/2023062206z/
2023-06-21 New SV Realtime Mesoscale Analysis (RTMA) maps are available on SV showing 1 and 24-hour changes in temperature and dew point. Check out these ERCOT examples: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/rtma/current/ercot/170-24hr-2-m-temperature-compare https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/rtma/current/ercot/338-1hr-2-m-temperature-compare https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/rtma/current/ercot/171-24hr-2-m-dew-point-compare https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/rtma/current/ercot/339-1hr-2-m-dew-point-compare
2023-06-16 Canadian and European models added for new tropical threat progression tables. New view type allows you to fix dates along x-axis (similar to SV WDD and city forecast compare cycles). Starting with the 12z cycle, the rollover information will include low pressure intensity. Find this under Features --> Tropical Models or by going here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/tropical/threat-progression
2023-06-13 New tropical threat progression charts now added for GFS ensemble. More models coming soon. https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/tropical/threat-progression/gulfmex/gfs-ens/
2023-06-13 New GFS Op and Ensemble wave height and direction maps available for map areas that include water. See a Gulf of Mexico example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/gfs-suite/12z/gulfmex/337-wave-height-direction
2023-06-09 New tropical threat progression table available for GFS Op, but other models coming soon. Check out its Gulf of Mexico threat progression here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/tropical/threat-progression Find it under the Features ---> Tropical Models menu
2023-06-09 SV API now includes long-lead ENSO and other SST outlooks from multiple models. See more information here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/api#sst
2023-06-08 More extended guidance for smoke is now available on SV via the CAMS model: smoke and AQI forecasts: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/cams/00z/na/212-smoke-vertically-integrated https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/cams/00z/na/336-air-quality-index
2023-06-07 The new NOAA HAFS-A and HAFS-B are now available on StormVista. These will eventually replace the HWRF and HMON, which retire at the end of the year. HAFS-A includes Atlantic and global coverage (check out the latest on Guchol there) and HAFS-B is just Western Atlantic. Find these models under Features --> Tropical --> Quick Links here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/tropical
2023-05-31 Beaufort Scale has been added for shipping support to the RRFS and European/American operational models (ensembles should be coming soon too). The "6" level is considered the threshold for impact, so our SV coloring starts at that point to more quickly identify trouble spots. This should help with LNG tracking, but CWG subscribers can read more about the scale's history here: https://www.commoditywx.com/news/20230531/cwg-u-research-roundup-may-2023
2023-05-19 First batches of RRFS-ensemble outputs are available on SV. See an example here (and find under the Short Range menu): https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/rrfs-ens/06z/ma/333-stamps-1km-radar
2023-05-03 NOAA RRFS now updating hourly: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/rrfs
2023-04-25 Elevation overlays are now available on StormVista to track snow fall and melt issues: 500m, 1000m, 1500m, 2000m, and 3000m are added.
2023-04-21 European Monthly clients can now see new thumbnails showing global SST anomaly forecasts for each cluster. Find the links right below the cluster maps; an example is here.
2023-04-06 New US Drought Monitor overlays added. Find under Real-time (lower right) in overlay menu.
2023-04-04 New monthly SST outlooks from CFS and Euro monthlies (for Euro monthly subscribers) now available under Features --> ENSO/SST menu. This includes all the European monthly members too. See some here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/sst-forecast-monthly/enso/enso34/2023040400z
