8/15/10:

We have made changes to our SST and SSTA maps. All SST maps are now shown in degrees Fahrenheit. The anomaly and change maps for oceanic indices are still shown in the standard degrees Celsius. This includes all ENSO region maps, where the only change is in the actual SST map. The basin averages and changes that are shown for non-oceanic index maps are now also converted to degrees F. All maps are clearly labeled in the title as to what scale is used. We have also added contours to many of the SST maps in 5 degree increments. These changes were made in part due to the hurricane season, to better identify warmer pockets of water that a tropical system may encounter. We made these changes based on feedback we have received, and it also makes sense to show water temps in this manner. If anyone has any questions, let us know.
